Ingredients(for two);
- 300 gr beef pieces
- 50 gr bacon cubes
- 2 handfulls of mushrooms
- 2 red peppers
- 3 onions
- 5 cloves garlic
- 1 small can thick tomato juice
- 2 tomatoes
- 2 cups beef broth
- red pepper flakes
- 5 cloves
- laurel leaves
That's a big list hm? It's well worth it though, and bound to convince anyone that Paleo food is tasty!
- Before you start, cut everything up. Leave the fat on the meat, that adds some nice flavours. Make generous bite sized chunks.
- Put some coconut oil in a big pan, and fry your onions and garlic for a minute or two.
- Add all your meat, plus the pepper flakes. Make sure it all sears properly.
- Add the mushrooms, peppers and tomato things. Stir occasionally for 5 minutes.
- Then pour in your broth and arrange the cloves and laurel leaves evenly among your food. Put the lid on, and leave it for 2 hours.
*This was the other.
ps. My plans were to make some delicious paleo proof deviled eggs after I had stumbled upon this website, but I never did manage to make some I really liked. That should teach me to make promises I am not certain I can fulfill.. I hope you will forgive me ;) If anyone knows a recipe, please share!

Hi! Your food looks lovely! Could you post something about breakfast as well? What do you normally have?
Great blog!
Sadly it's also too true Mizfit :(
Andre, the trick is to stop tagging meals with either breakfast, lunch or dinner. Have anything you like! I usually have leftovers from dinner the night before. Eggs are also a great choice, about a million different options there. To save on time just make sure you've got everything ready to-go in the fridge :) Maybe I'll do a breakfast-hacks post sometime..
Naomi,
to bad we're not neigbors. That way we could exchange leftovers in the morning. ;-)
Andre, Naomi is right, breakfast, lunch etc, they are just labels.
Marc
That would've been nice Marc.. I might consider talking my neighbours into trying the paleo diet ;)
This sounds like it could be good with some basil, chunky-chopped carrots and zucchini in it.
I'll let you know how it goes.
Holy crap, that was awesome.
We made it with the beer. We added zucchini and carrot. We didn't have cloves so we used caroway seeds.
Fresh mint goes really, really well with this by the way. Definitely a keeper.
I took some photos of the cooking too. I'll upload them to Flickr post a link for you. If you like them you can use them. :)
Oh Steve you're so cool for trying that, sounds like a brilliant combo. Will definately have to make it myself sometime.
Thanks for letting me know, puts a smile on my face :)
Would love to see those photo's!
I've never even heard of those seeds before, guess I've got some shopping to do. Don't tell anyone, but I absolutely love shopping for food..
Flickr pics of this start here.
Available in all sizes under a CC license so if you want to use them, go for it. :)
I cooked it in a slow cooker for about 6 hours. Mmmmm good. -- Paul
Glad to hear that Paul, thanks for letting me know :)
It's a dream of mine to buy a slow-cooker and do a series of recipes for it.. They would freeze very well I bet!
